Dr. Lee Ann M. Klausner – New York Facial Plastic Surgeon

Lee-Ann-Klausner,-MD-2Dr. Lee Ann Klausner brings her clinical expertise to her job as well as her unique perspective. “I am a plastic surgeon and, as a woman, I am a consumer. I want to look good and still look like myself. I study all of the latest techniques and do what I would feel comfortable having done to myself or my family members.”

Lee Ann M. Klausner, MD, FACS is a native New Yorker who graduated with honors from Boston College. She went to medical school at Georgetown University. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) at NYU School of Medicine. She completed her fellowship with the renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. Russell W.H. Kridel and The University of Texas Medical Center in Houston. She has been a clinical instructor of facial plastic surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology at NYU Medical Center.

Dr. Klausner is a leading female double board certified facial plastic surgeon in New York City. She is certified by The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Klausner has hospital privileges at Lenox Hill Hospital, Gramercy Surgery Center and MEETH.

Dr. Klausner discovered her love of plastic surgery during her third year of medical school. “ It was largely a male dominated field when I was a student and I didn’t know many women surgeons. But, during my surgical rotations, I realized that I thought like a surgeon. I loved working with my hands, loved to operate and felt great satisfaction in resolving surgical conditions. I had the stamina, focus and drive. Becoming a surgeon was a decision that felt absolutely right and because I loved it so much I could not imagine myself doing anything else. I knew in a deep and genuine way that it was the only thing I should be doing.”

I spend a lot of time with my patients. I try to listen to them and after evaluation of their concerns give them a thorough understanding of the procedures that might best suit their aesthetic goals. I try to give them options and help them understand potential outcomes of the various options so that they can make choices that best suit their needs and their lifestyle.

Dr. Klausner is a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. She is a member of the New York Facial Plastic Surgery Society and the American Medical Association. She has served on the Alumnae Board of Convent of the Sacred Heart. She is a board member of the New York Auxiliary for the Blue Ridge School. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, long distance running, tennis, theater, sewing and entertaining.

Watch Dr. Klausner speak about her background as a doctor and passion for her patients.
