NYC VARILITE™ Laser Treatment (Facial Veins, Rosacea, Brown Spots, Freckles and More)
Broken blood vessels, hyperpigmentation and excess facial redness are signs of aging and sun damage that can interfere with your most beautiful appearance and make you feel self-conscious. The FDA-approved VariLite™ laser from Cutera® safely and effectively reduces benign vascular, pigmented and cutaneous lesions, as well as redness associated with rosacea. Plus the VariLite laser can treat vascular issues with far less bruising and purple skin discoloration than is often associated with less advanced laser models on today’s market.
Double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Klausner uses the VariLite laser to treat patients who want to get rid of cherry angiomas, spider angiomas, blue facial veins, and other facial vascular issues. The VariLite can also help to reduce superficial leg veins.
Dr. Klausner also uses the VariLite to treat pigmented lesions, which include lentigines (liver spots) and freckles. This state-of-the art laser also reduces or eliminates acne, keratoses, and skin tags. Lastly, the VariLite can rejuvenate the skin by addressing hyperpigmenation (brown spots) and rough skin texture.
How The VariLite Laser Works:
The VariLite laser generates an intense beam of light that selectively targets a treatment site. Laser light is then absorbed by the red blood cells, or melanin, which is responsible for skin pigmentation. The laser causes decomposition by heat, destroying the unwanted cells and leaving healthy cells intact.
The advanced VariLite is actually two lasers in one. Its two separate wavelengths enables the VariLite to treat generalized redness or pigment and permanently dilate blood vessels of different sizes.
VARI-LITE Laser treatments can reduce or get rid of:
- Telangiectasia – facial spider veins caused by a dilation of capillary vessels or arterioles
- Cherry Angiomas – slightly raised, red lesions
- Spider Angiomas – slightly raised, red spider-like lesions
- Rosacea – red facial lesions usually around the nose and cheeks causing a sunburn look
- Lentigines – flat, brown spots also called liver spots
- Keratoses – slightly elevated pigmented spots often found on the back and hands
- Freckles – a brownish spot on the skin common on people with fair skin
- Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra – small, black marks seen primarily on people of Asian or African descent
- Hyperpigmentation (brown spots/sun spots)
What Can I Expect During Treatment?
The VariLite laser treatment is noninvasive and can be performed without anesthesia. During your VariLite session, Dr. Klausner utilizes a pen-like handpiece to direct a laser beam of light into the lesion or affected area. You may experience a slight stinging sensation so a cooling gel may be used to eliminate any discomfort. This gentle treatment session usually take about 10-15 minutes. (Several office visits are often required for optimal results.)
Afterwards, the treated area may appear slightly red but this usually subsides within a few hours. Final treatment results are usually realized within 10-14 days for vascular lesions and within two-three weeks for pigmented lesions. Dr. Klausner may recommend applying an anti-bacterial ointment on the treated area for a short time period. In addition, you should stay out of the sun post-treatment.
During a complimentary consultation in our comfortable Manhattan office, Dr. Klausner will be happy to thoroughly discuss your individualized case and devise a VariLite laser treatment plan that best meets your needs.
