A nose job, or rhinoplasty, can assist in a person’s ability to breathe and can serve to correct cosmetic issues that may be of concern. After having nose surgery, the goal is to heal as quickly and comfortably as possible. This phase in the surgical process can be referred to as nose surgery recovery.

Dr. Lee Ann Klausner is a double-board-certified facial plastic surgeon offering up some helpful tips to minimize your nose surgery recovery time. During rhinoplasty recovery, expect the nose to be tender to the touch for about six weeks. Because of this, taking a more cautious approach with certain activities is advised.

Blowing your nose should be avoided for at least two weeks after surgery. In addition, resting glasses on your nose is something that should be put off for about a month.
