The VariLite laser generates an intense beam of light that selectively targets a treatment site. Laser light is then absorbed by the red blood cells, or melanin, which is responsible for skin pigmentation. The laser causes decomposition by heat, destroying the unwanted cells and leaving healthy cells intact.
The advanced VariLite is actually two lasers in one. Its two separate wavelengths enables the VariLite to treat generalized redness or pigment and permanently dilate blood vessels of different sizes.
