Balancing With Chin Augmentation
The chin is often overlooked by those considering cosmetic surgery for the face, but the chin plays a significant role in facial harmony. Chin augmentation is often recommended in conjunction with rhinoplasty (nose surgery) for patients with a lack of prominence to their chin. This can create greater facial harmony, together, chin augmentation and rhinoplasty can bring about a refreshing balance that looks both natural harmonious.
Depending on the needs of the patient, Dr. Klausner may use a gortex or silastic implant or an injectable filler. Placement of the chin implant may be approached through a small incision under the chin or through a small incision in the mouth.
Balancing With Cheek Implants
Cheek implant surgery (submalar or malar augmentation) is used in order to gain facial balance and desirable facial definition. Much like chin augmentation, cheek implants are often used in combination with other facial cosmetic procedures to achieve an ideal balance and overall facial harmony.
Cheek implants are placed on top of the cheek bones or below depending on individual patient needs. Incisions are often made inside the mouth. The specifics of your cheek or chin implant surgery will be discussed in further detail during your consultation with Dr. Klausner.
